Project 1a On Site Sketching
Throughout this assignment, I got the opportunity to experience the technique used in visualizing and expressing the space through on site sketching at the compound of Taylor's Lakeside University. On the other hand, i experienced the technique used such as hatching, shading and cross hatching as well.
Project 1b Tonal Values
This project is designed as to train us on creating tonal values on sketching as to show depth and tone in it. In this exercise, we were required to sketch out Barcelona Pavillion based on the image provided. Throughout this assignment, I get the opportunity to sharpened my skills on hatching, cross hatching, stippling and scribbling.
Project 2a Orthographic Projection
In this assignment, we were required to produce a to scale orthographic drawing of Barcelona Pavillio which includes the Plan drawing, Elevations and section drawings. The scale used in the drawings is 1:100.
Project 2b Axonometric Drawing
In this project, I got the opportunity to learn the technique on executing an axonometric projection by generating external and internal projections of the house. Axonometric drawing is the best way to express the buildings as it is to scales. In this assignment, the projections are generated at a scale of 1:100 on an A2-sized butter paper and finally inked on tracing paper.
Project 2c Perspective Drawing
In this assignment, I get the chance to approach the techniques on drawing perspective as a mode of communication in architecture. In constructing both 1-point and 2-point perspectives, we were able to express Barcelona Pavillion in 3D form and also understand 2D and 3D relationships in architectural graphics.
Project 3 Hideout Drawings
In this assignment, we were required to draw orthographic drawings, axonometric and perspective drawings of our hideout we designed in our Studio 1 final assignment. The scale used in the drawings is 1:50.
